The Institute of Chartered Accountants - ICAEW

academic requirements

Below you will find our minimum academic requirements for all applicants. For A-level candidates you should consider the GCSE and A-Level sections only.

GCSEs

All applicants must have been awarded a grade B or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and a grade A to C in GCSE (or equivalent) English Language gained from your first sitting of each subject.

A-Levels

Our UCAS point requirement varies, however, we would expect a minimum of 240 points. This is based on your top three grades sat in the same year and in the first sitting, excluding General Studies. In relation to qualifications achieved in Scotland we only consider 5th year Scottish Higher results.

Degree - We require a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree in most cases.
